On Monday, February 10th, at approximately 3 p.m. local time, a Learjet aircraft Model 35A owned by Vince Neil, Mötley Crüe's singer, was attempting to land at the Scottsdale Airport when the jet left the runway and impacted a parked plane. The cause of the incident is currently unknown, according to a statement released by Mr. Neil's representative.

Vince Neil was not a passenger, but his partner was

The 64-year-old artist was not present during the crash, but his partner, 43-year-old Rain Andreani, and her friend Ashley were reportedly on board. TMZ was among the first to report that two passengers, along with the dogs they were traveling with, had survived.

Worrick Robinson, Vince Neil's representative, in a statement posted by the band said that: “Mr. Neil’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today”. Right now, there is at least 1 person dead and 3 injured after the accident. Airport officials suspect that the left main landing gear malfunctioned during landing, leading to the collision. However, the official cause remains under investigation.

Bret Michaels speaks about the accident

Bret Michaels, a close friend of Neil and lead singer of the rock band Poison, later addressed the tragic accident by sharing a statement on Facebook: "My deepest sympathy and condolences to the pilot that just passed away in Scottsdale Airpark and the other pilot who was injured, as well as my thoughts and prayers to our family friend Rain, her friends and all those that were injured in the tragic landing".

Michaels also expressed his relief at knowing that his friend was not on board at the time of the accident and his sympathy to everyone involved.
